ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR

DEONOVEIGH MITCHELL

Deonoveight Mitchell

Deonoveigh Mitchell is an artist, educator, and storyteller. She is Tł'ááshchí'í (Red Bottom People) born for Naahiłii (Black American), her cheii is Tábaahí (Water's Edge People) and her nali is Naahiłii. She is originally from Chinle, AZ and resides in Phoenix, AZ. 

 

After earning her degree in Education from New Mexico State University, she taught grades Pre K through 8th for 14 years. Her passion for education and art motivated her business, K'aalógii Kisses, whose foundation highlights the beautiful blend of both of her cultures and inspiring others to paint their own stories.
